I have heard of a disease that effects large dogs. Where they must be in upright position to eat. There is a GSD on Facebook that goes into a box with a lid so he can be upright to eat. Thank you

In these dogs, the esophagus is dilated and does not have normal motility. These dogs are much more prone to aspiration of their food, and hence we keep them upright to keep the food down (by gravity) to prevent them from regurgitating after eating.
