Customer Question

My Lhasa Paso is panting, shaking, and appears in pain. She cries when she walks, she wants me to help her but I don't know how. She just crawled up me crying. She had a bowel movement today. She won't eat her supper or treats. This started a few hours ago. Can I give her anything? She is a healthy dog. She had a check up in Ontario with her shots in November.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please let me know if you still need help or you've already had Ellie attended to by her vet. She's obviously painful but the source of that pain needs to be discovered by a thorough physical exam by her vet. My initial thought was that you're seeing the pain associated with degenerative disk disease (a "slipped disk") in a 10 year old Lhasa Apso behaving as she's doing. This is just an educated guess, however; unless she has remissed unaided by the time of this posting, please have her vet attend to her at your earliest convenience.

Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
