Ask a Dog Vet and Get Answers to Your Dog Veterinary Questions
Hi, this is Dr. Gabby. This is not the first time this has happened. Normally, nothing happens if two vaccines are given. I have never had it happen in a four week old. I would just keep an eye on her over the next 24 hours. If she has an allergic reaction she will have facial swelling, vomiting, diarrhea, abnormal gum color, or trouble breathing. If you notice any of those signs take her to the emergency vet at once. They can give her a cortisone injection to stop the allergic reaction.
An allergic reaction, or an adverse reaction, are both of concern.
Tomorrow, she may refuse to eat, be painful, have a fever, or be really lethargic. If that happens she needs to see the emergency vet as well.
I would not leave her alone in the next 24 hours.
Does that help? Do you have any additional questions?
