Hello. Thanks for the question.

I wouldn't worry too much about some brown pigmentation on the abdomen. It may just be from where they clipped hair or used a heating pad. Sometimes we'll end up with extra pigmentation in these areas. It's nothing to worry about.

If the areas seem like they're growing or the skin is becoming infected or necrotic, then I would start to worry. In that case, I would worry that there was a heating pad burn or secondary infection (staph infection) after the surgery.
