I am sorry to hear you are worried about Coco. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.
Seizures can be from many things, and the treatment depends on the cause. You wife is correct, if the seizures are due to low blood sugar, then Karo syrup may be helpful (along with other medications). Usually we see seizures from low blood sugar in older dogs, with pancreatic tumors.
If the seizures are due to liver disease, or hypothyroidism, or epilepsy, then Karo will not help. If this were my own dog, I would do some basic blood tests to check for things like low blood sugar, liver disease or low thyroid. If the blood tests are normal, she may be epileptic and may need to be on anti seizure medication such as phenobarb, bromide, zonisamide or levetiracetam.
Let me know if this is helpful, and what other questions I can answer.
I hope you were able to see my answer.
