right now he's playing and showing no symptoms of anything wrong.
Expert:  Dr. Jo replied 1 year ago.

Okay... good. I'm glad it just happened. The normal dose of pentoxifylline for a puppy this small would be only 50-100mg, so this is a significant overdose. It can cause pretty serious problems, with peak effects expected to happen around 3 hours after ingestion.

Because of the risks of an overdose and the fact he just ate this, I would strongly advise getting him to throw up absolutely as soon as possible, and starting what's called "decontamination therapy" as quickly as possible.

The best way to do that is to take him to an emergency center right away. That's the safest.

While you can sometimes be successful using fresh hydrogen peroxide to make a dog throw up at home, that's not nearly as safe or likely to be effective.

ok thank you

I'd hate to see you waste the time trying to get him to vomit at home when it may not even work, when he's so young and tiny and would be in better hands at the emergency center. Plus, it's still safer to have him go there so he can receive activated charcoal after throwing up.

Much better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you for using our website, and get him to the ER as quickly as possible.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thank you.
