Customer Question

My terrier is 13 years old. Recently she started cutting her walks short and occasionally there is blood in her stool, but then it goes away the next day so I don't know if I should be worried or not.

Is Annie losing weight?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, but her appetite is off the charts. She's always begging for more food and acting as if she's starving. I feed her twice a day

Her belly looks distended to me, although the vet didn't seem to think so

Are you still there?
Expert:  brisadog replied 1 year ago.

Yes, I'm sorry about that.

Expert:  brisadog replied 1 year ago.

There are a couple of different reasons that we can see increased appetite like this. The two most common are diabetes mellitus and Cushings disease (hyperadrenocorticism).

Do you think you could get a copy of her lab work for me to review on Monday?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
When I did not receive a reply for over ten minutes, I gave up and called my credit card company to cancel this service. I was not aware you would be emailing with a response when you were still asking questions online - so that's where I expected to see some kind of response. I would prefer to go back to a real in-person vet so I will see my regular vet on Monday. She has all the test results and I'll go from there. I have telephoned your customer service and my credit card to cancel service.

No problem. I understand. I'm sorry that the format was confusing!
