Customer Question

My 4 month old pup seems lethargic this morn. Peed and pooh, no diarrhea, no vomit, no foaming, back seems a bit hunched like his belly is upset, I gave him a gasx. Just wants to sleep. He ate last nite a chewable veggie gummy bone. His temp was 104. Thought I may have taken pooh temp. It's Sunday can't aford er charges, does this sound urgent.

Hello I am Dr RB and I am a licensed veterinarian. This may or may be an urgent matter. It is possible that your little puppy have have ingested something that is affecting his GI tract in a very minor way that will resolve on its own. But it is also possible that he may have early symptoms of pancreatitis or a gastric obstruction which would need immediate care. I would observe him very closely today, keep him quiet and warm; offer small amounts of chicken broth and water to keep his blood sugar up. If ANY vomiting, diarrhea or other abnormal symptoms occur, I would strongly recommend a 24 hour animal hospital today. I hope this advice helps you and if so, I would greatly appreciate a positive rating;)
