Hi, this is Dr. Gabby. So as you know, the aspirin could cause liver or kidney issues. The only way to know if he has liver of kidney issues, before starting the aspirin, is to have blood work done. So that is what I would recommend if you plan on having to give it every day. If you only give it a couple of times a week it should be fine.

The dose for aspirin is 5-10 mg per pound every 12 hours.

So I would try 2 adult human 325 mg aspirin every 12 hours as needed.

Give it with food to help prevent gastrointestinal upset.

I do not think 2 baby aspirin, or 162 mg, will be enough for moderate to severe pain.
