Our 4 month old German Shepard swallowed a small 5 year

Customer Question

hello, our 4 month old German Shepard swallowed a small 5 year old's ankle sock. He did this last week and it passed out in his poop. Again, he just swallowed another ne. We could not pull it out.
This wasn't from our neglect as we put clean laundry on top of a table and try to keep everything out of reach.
What should we do?

Hello,

This is Dr. Christian. I'd like to help. How much does he weigh? How long ago did he eat it?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Hi Dr are you there?
Expert:  Dr. Christian K. replied 1 year ago.

Try giving 1 1/2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. You can repeat the dose 10 minutes later if needed. If he doesn't vomit the sock up then I'd recommend taking him to an emergency vet so that vomiting can be induced with medication. The sock might pass like the other one but the risk of a blockage is enough that getting him to vomit is worth it. If you have more questions please reply back.
