Customer Question

My poodle has recently been put on Temaril P for severe allergies. When walking my dog today, I noticed every few steps he would stop and lie down as if too weak to walk. After resting a few minutes he can continue walking.is this related to the Temaril P?

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Can you tell me, please, how much Orry weighs and what dose of Temaril-P has been prescribed? Temaril-P contains an antihistamine (trimeprazine) which can cause sedation, depression, hypotension, and extrapyramidal reactions (rigidity, tremors, weakness, restlessness, etc.) and the corticosteroid prednisolone which can cause increased thirst, volume of urine, and appetite as well as behavioral changes. This combination drug product is usually well-tolerated because the dose of each of the drugs is quite small but they synergize to be more effective against allergies than when either drug is given alone.

Hi Beverly,
I'm just following up on our conversation about Orry. How is everything going?
