Hello my name is***** and I am a licensed veterinarian. I am hoping to help you with your dog King today. How long has the labored breathing been going on far? Has he vomited anytime other than today?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
His breathing has been going on for a couple of days but much worse this afternoon. This was the first time he vomited.

He will not eat anything, even a treat.

Is he coughing at all? Is he on heartworm prevention. With the labored breathing I would be worried about something serious going on with lungs or the heart. As far as the lungs I would either worry about either an infection or fluid in the lungs. With the heart there could be an underlying heart condition that is causing increased pressure in the lungs leading to fluid build up otherwise known as pulmonary edema.

I have a call in to our vet now, he is on heart worm prevention

I would avoid the sugar water since he is vomiting. He is likely just to vomit it back up. He we likely need x-rays to find out what is going on with his lungs. Has he every had a issue with breathing in the past?
