My shih tzu was acting normal yesterday and today, she is not active, when taking her outside to pee, she lays down, won't eat, play and is very lethartic

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. While Bella's symptoms of lethargy and anorexia are important, they're not pathognomonic (specifically indicative) of any one disorder. Have new symptoms appeared that might help localize her problem? When symptoms are nonspecific it's important to know if a my patient needs to be seen urgently or an owner can continue to "watchful wait". To know this please check a few things for me...

1) Look at Bella's gums and tongue. They should be nicely pink - not whitish (anemia) or bluish-greyish (cyanosis/lack of oxygen to her tissues).

2) Please assess Bella's respiratory rate at rest. She should be taking less than 40 breaths per minute.

3) Finally, please take her rectal temperature. Any body thermometer will do placed 1.5" into her rectum for 1 minute. This is a two person job! Normal is 100.5-102.5F.
