Foxy - my female pom - has a collapsed trachea that isn't

Customer Question

Foxy - my female pom - has a collapsed trachea that isn't well helped by meds. She is probably 8 years old, 15 pounds (overweight), and I am wondering about the success rate of a stint.

Please see here: http://chicagovetspecialists.com/tracheal-collapse-a-look-beyond-stenting/ We don't have much in the way of retrospective studies concerning stenting but please scroll down to "intraluminal tracheal stenting" and note the review of 12 dogs in the JAVMA. Extraluminal ring placement should be considered for Foxy as I suspect that she would be graded as at least a grade of 3-4 collapse.
