Aloha! You're speaking to Dr. Michael Salkin
I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. I believe that you're describing a sporadic myoclonus - a type of tremor characterized by a sudden contraction of a muscle group such as a facial twitch or limb jerk. These may be benign or represent focal seizure activity.
His vet will need to perform a thorough physical and neurological exam including diagnostics in the form of blood and urine tests. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis and MRI might be recommended to be performed by a specialist veterinary neurologist. Anticonvulsive medication may be prescribed.
Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
