Yes, there are a few things you can do until the vet opens on Monday. You can give him a human antihistamine. Try benadryl. The dose is 1 mg of benadryl, per each pound of dog, every 8-12 hours as needed. For example a 50 pound dog would take 50 mg of benadryl every 8-12 hours.Buy some over the counter hydrocortisone cream. Mix it 50:50 with your neosporin. Apply that to the area every 3-4 hours. It is not toxic if he licks it.In the first aid aisle see if you can find some Benzocaine cream. That has a numbing ingredient in it. You may find it in the sunburn section too.If you can find a turtle neck shirt this time of year, you can cut the sleeves off and put it on him to protect the area.

Holding an ice pack on the area, for 20 minute intervals, can help too.

How does that sound? Does it help? Do you have any additional questions for me?
