My 13 week puppy is under the vet's care with an upper

Customer Question

Hello. My 13 week puppy is under the vet's care with an upper respiratory infection. He is getting better - no fever - no pneumonia - but not out of the woods. He's hacking at night and I bring him into the steamed bathroom and it works. It's Sunday and can't call my vet so I want to know what kind of humidifer or vaporizer I should purchase for him. Warm or cool? What do you think?

Aloha! You're speaking to Dr. Michael Salkin
Because you've seen that steam is helping him, it would be prudent to use a warm steam vaporizer. A product such as Vick's is safe with or without the Vick's Vapo-Pads. Please see here: http://vicks.com/en-us/browse-products/humidifiers-steam-inhalers/v1300-portable-vaposteam-inhaler
Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
