Customer Question

Just starting tonight, my 3 year old golden retriever threw up part of his dinner, has been drinking a lot of water and then threw up again, mostly water (with a little bit of food). I have only fed her a 1/4 cup of her food since she first threw up and she regurgitated a few pieces with the water. Does this require a trip to the emergency vet, or should I wait and call my vet later today?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.
Can she keep small amounts of water down?
Are her gums nice and pink (not white/pale)? Moist or sticky?
If you press on her belly, does she have any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?
Could she have eaten anything she should not have (ie bones, stones, socks, toys, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?
Any diarrhea?
Is she spayed?
