Customer Question

Dr. Bruce, We have a litter of puppies that was born C- section. 9 in all. They have been doing fine up until now. We have had to supplement the mothers milk as she didn't give much. They have been eating good, maybe too much. This afternoon we fed them
around 5 o'clock and around 10: 30 we checked on them. They have milk coming out of their nose. Sounds like they are sneezing or gaging. I thought that maybe they have gotten too full. We have tried some pedialite and it is coming out of their nose, also.
Could they just be too full or do you suppose they have pneumonia. Can we give them some pennacillin shot. We can't contact our vet until in the morning. I am so worried we just can't lose them. Thanks, Sylvia

Hello,
I am sorry to hear about your puppies, and also sorry your requested expert was not online to help you. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help. I just came online and saw your question.
How are the puppies doing? Do you still need help with them?
