My sharpei has experienced 2 seizers within the last two weeks. Could a bad ear infection attribute to this?

Hello there. I am sorry to hear about your guys seizures. I am happy to help you this evening. Ear infections do not usually cause seizures. Even if they are severe. Severe ear infections can cause balance issues and a head tilt but normally do not cause seizures. If he has had two seizures in the last two weeks he definitely should be checked out by your vet for a good check over and some blood work to makes sure nothing is going on with his liver, kidneys, blood sugar, electrolytes, or any signs of infection. If all this is normal than it is possible that something like epilepsy is causing the seizures and you should discuss with your vet if going to see a neurologist is necessary or if medications should be started to control the seizures. But again ear infections do not commonly cause seizures. I hope this helps and I hope this makes sense. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or concerns. I would be happy to help. Please do not forget to rate my response so I receive credit for my time. Thank you!
