Hello,Yes, depending on the overall health of the pet and for what indication, vets will prescribe xanax. In fact, xanax is commonly used for firework phobia.

The following link talks more about xanax in dogs, side effects, dosing etc..Of course, I would never recomend giving xanax until your vet has done a health check up, and ideally, a basic blood test first. Lorazapam, has also been used but I see it less frequently.Hope that info helpsDr. Andy
