My dog is having some issues with arthritis in his hips. Besides giving him aspirin perscribed by his vet, what can I do to ease his pain?

Hi, I can help you with your question today. Aside from the medication his vet has already prescribed, we can add another prescription medication called tramadol. Of course, this will need to be obtained through your vet. Aside from that, we can add some supplements to help his mobility.

You can give a joint supplement like Dasuquin, Glycoflex III or Synovi G3s. You can also start a fish oil supplement. Both of these can help prevent worsening of his signs and hopefully give some pain relief as well.

Thank you.

Controlled leash walks are also very beneficial. It is good for him to move his joints, as long as we avoid high impact activities. Swimming can be great for this too.
