My 14 yr old cocker spaniel/ bichon just had a bowel movement

Customer Question

My 14 yr old cocker spaniel/ bichon just had a bowel movement that contained tiny yellow dots. She threw up a 1/2 dollar size of yellow bike this morning. She had eaten yesterday (chicken , chic***** *****vers, rice and carrots). Before that she hadn't eaten for 1-1/2 days. She is drinking water. She does not appear lethargic.

Hi Kathy. I'm a veterinarian. It's always good practice to watch for changes in feces to monitor your pet's health! In this case I would not be super concerned unless the vomiting continues. From time to time pets pick up all kinds of things with their mouths. A great candidate is a plant or pollen of some sort. As long as the feces was formed normally and did not appear to be diarrhea or have blood then its very likely that your pup is just fine. If the vomiting continues, her attitude changes or she develops diarrhea I would take her in for a fecal examination. Hope that helps
