WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF GALL BLADDER PROBLEMS IN DOGS

Hi there. Thanks for the question. Gall bladder issues in dogs are relatively rare as compared to people. They don't tend to get stones but can get what's called a mucocoele. Symptoms are lethargy, inappetance, vomiting, sometimes fever and jaundice. Diagnosis is based on bloodwork and abdominal ultrasound. Gall bladder issues in dogs can be linked sometimes to other metabolic problems like Cushings disease and hypothyroidism. Treatment is generally surgical removal of the gallbladder. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
