My dog got 2 Think Thin High Protein Chunky Peanut Butter Bars

Customer Question

My dog got 2 Think Thin High Protein Chunky Peanut Butter Bars off the counter and ate them. I've been gone since 9:30 am and just got home at 2:00. She threw up a lot. Will she be ok?

Aloha! You're speaking to Dr. Michael Salkin
I didn't find anything of concern in the ingredient list for these bars. I'd be more concerned if the wrappers were ingested by Phoebe and needed to pass through her! Did she ingest the wrappers, please?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No she did not ingest the wrappers. Thank you so much.

They are dipped in milk chocolate so I was concerned about that. I guess it's not much chocolate. Plus she vomited.
Expert:  Dr. Michael Salkin replied 1 year ago.
Correct, there wasn't nearly enough chocolate to be of concern. Dogs need to ingest ~ 1 ounce of milk chocolate per pound of body weight to become intoxicated by the theobromine in chocolate...and, yes, vomiting was protective.
You're quite welcome. No treatment is necessary but I might have a word with Phoebe!

Hi,

I'm just following up on our conversation about Phoebe. How is everything going?
