Customer Question

How dangerous is Bifenthrin for our small breed dogs? I bought it for flower beds and perimeter of the house. Will it harm them if they walk on it?
Thank you,

Hi,
Welcome. I'm Dr. Bruce and I've been a small animal veterinarian for over 15 years. Thank you for your question. Bifenthrin is a synthetic pyrethroid. It has a wide safety range when used appropriately. It is typically considered safe as long as not sprayed directly on the pets - especially cats. Usually within 30-60 minutes after spraying it, pets can be back on the area of the lawn it was applied to. Pyrethroids a type of chemical that are commonly used in topical flea and tick sprays for dogs.
