Customer Question

Hi, When I got home a little while ago my dog is acting strange. Slow reaction and lethargic. She won't eat or drink anything

she seems to be a little unsteady on her feet. She is just lying in the corner of the room (not on her bed) and is smacking her jaws like maybe she has dry mouth. I was gone all day today and when I got home she went outside but walked with her head very low. I laid down with her and she was shaking a little. Her gums seem fine and her nose is cold and wet. The area around her eyes seem a little darker than normal. Just isn't acting herself at all

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help. Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner. If you would still like assistance, can you tell me: Has she been vomiting or any signs of her doing so while you were away? Are her gums nice and pink (not white/pale)? Moist or sticky? If you press on her belly, does she have any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain? Could she have eaten anything she should not have (ie bones, stones, socks, toys, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?
