What should I do if my dog eats a STRIKE A fLAME

Hi Kathy, I'm Dr. Deb. I'll do my best to help you today.

I'm sorry for this concern for Emm.
I have a few questions to ask first, if you don't mind:

1. Is this product primarily made of sawdust and wax?

2. Can you double check the ingredient label?
3. How much did she ingest?

Thanks for the answers to my questions.

Yes. Perhaps 4 to 6 of them

Thanks so much for the answers to my questions.

While these products are not usually toxic to dogs (unless they contain heavy metals), they can cause gastrointestinal issues such as drooling, vomiting, retching, loss of appetite and a distended abdomen.
The biggest concern would be if enough were ingested to cause an obstruction.

If Emm is a large girl, then ingestion of 4-6 is not likely to cause problems for her but if you want to be absolutely safe, you could induce vomiting if you have 3% hydrogen peroxide.
The dose would be 2 tablespoons if she weighs around 50 lbs. Give it with some bread and walk her around. If necessary, repeat the dose in 15 minutes.
I should warn you that not all dogs will vomit when peroxide is given but most do.

I hope this helps. Deb
