Our one year old 5 lb Maltese female ate maybe a tablespoon of powdered air freshener could be anywhere from an hour to four hours ago. No coughing No lethargy NO throwing up she seems to be normal
Hello, I'm Dr Gary. I've been practicing veterinary medicine since 2007. I look forward to helping with your questions/ concerns.

This shouldn't be too concerning here. These air fresheners can cause some irritation to the gums, throat and stomach lining. It doesn't cause any systemic toxicity though. The most we typically see is some irritation, vomiting and decreased appetite.

I would just go ahead and feed her normally as well as have fresh water available. Keep an eye out for vomiting or burns in the mouth. If you see those signs, an exam and symptomatic care would be needed. I don't think it's likely that you'll need any veterinary care here.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
