My neighbors dog bit my dog - VERY slight puncture occurred

This answer was rated:

My neighbors dog bit my dog - VERY slight puncture occurred - a VERY small puncture - red, but no flowing or dripping blood. The dog (both dogs) are current on rabies. My dog is not upset and walked away seemingly unbothered.

Is there anything I need to do or that I should be worried about?

Dr. Christian K. :

Hello. This is Dr. Christian.

Customer:

Hello

Dr. Christian K. :

With one small wound like everything will probably be okay. Clean the wound with warm water and you can apply triple antibiotic ointment 2-3 times daily. Watch for swelling, redness and pain. These are signs of infection. If they occur, usually 2-3 days later, then have Cairo seen by your vet.

Dr. Christian K. :

Rabies wouldn't be an issue in this situation.

Customer:

Thank you. Can I use Neosporin for the antibiotic?

Dr. Christian K. :

You're welcome. That's perfect.
