Ask a Dog Vet and Get Answers to Your Dog Veterinary Questions
Welcome! I am Dr. Altman, a licensed veterinarian and happy to answer your questions today.
How long ago did Alice get into the tablets?
1. Vitamin B12 has a very large margin of safety and the dose your dogs may have taken would be very unlikely to affect them in any way.2. Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin as such it will dissolve in water and any excess, even a very large excess will be quickly eliminated from your dog's body via the urine.3. However it would still be common sense to monitor your dogs and consult a vet without delay if any serious symptoms occur. This would be very unlikely to occur though.
Anywhere between 1-5 hours ago.
OK if it has been more than an hour then we cannot expect it to be in her stomach any longer so really monitoring for any signs of gi upset, vomiting, diarrhea, increased water intake/ urination
I have consulted several sources and they all say this should not be an issue for Alice
You are welcome, can I assist with any additional questions this evening?
Not unless she gets into something else! Thank you.
LOL, I hope we do not meet again in this forum then :)
