Customer Question

I took my 5 month old puppy to the groomer yesterday - they removed the hair from inside her ears and she has been shaking her head since. She also won't let me near them which usually wasn't a problem in the past. Do you think I should take her in to be seen by a vet?

Optional Information:
Type of Dog: mini goolden doodle
Dog's Gender: Female
Dog's Age: Less than 1
Name of Dog: Rosie
What have you tried so far?: Tried to examine inside of ears but hesitate to force it as she responds very negatively when I go near them.

Dr:D : Hello ,Welcome to JA ,I am DrD ,I am a licensed veterinarian ,I will try to do my best to assist you with your questions today.
Dr:D : Yes please take her to your vet for a complete ear examination. Your vet will look at inside the ear canal with otoscope . there might be some damage occured to the epithelium of the ear canal which can not be seen from outside during hair plugging . Ther is also a possibility of ear canal infection since most groomers use the same equipment with many animals.
Dr:D : I hope this helps.Thank you for using JA.

Hi Monette,

I'm just following up on our conversation about Rosie. How is everything going?
