My dog hurt his tail, he won't let you touch it and he can't lift it. When he tries to walk he sits right back down because his tail wags constantly. He has a long tail and it appears to be hurting in the upper part. He isn't crying but seems to be hurting. I don't want to take him to the emergency hospital and can't get him to the vet until wed. I don't know if its broke but worried it is. I was told there is nothing that can be done, its like a broken toe and just has to heal. T I think this afternoon is when it happened, he was playing earlier. Is there anything I can do to make him feel better? Should I try and splint it somehow? Can I give him anything for pain?

However, it is important to note that aspirin should never be given if already on NSAIDS as above, or steroids such as prednisone. When using NSAIDS or aspirin, often Pepcid A/C (famotidine) LINK HERE is used as well to reduce the risk of stomach upset. The typical dose administered is 0.25 to 0.5 mg per pound (0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg) every 12 to 24 hoursBefore rating - Please REPLY at any time if more information is needed and I would be glad to reply back and help!Positive RATING (EXCITED FACE or 5 STARS) and bonus is appreciated as this is the way the professional receives credit for their time.
