My dog (1 year old Brittany) will not eat or drink anything.

Customer Question

My dog (1 year old Brittany) will not eat or drink anything. It's been going on for about 2.5 days. Last night she threw up twice and it was just liquid. Aside from the not eating or drinking, she is acting totally normal, no lethargy.

Is she spayed? Are her gums pink?

Customer replied 282 days and 20 hours ago.

Yes, she is spayed and her gums are pink. We live in Texas where it is hot but she stays inside alot during the day and temperatures have been pretty mild. We have not changed food (we feed her Blue Buffalo).

Of course it would be best for your baby to be examined by a vet. We could be dealing with a GI obstruction-is she the type of dog that would eat part of a toy, etc??? If there is not a vet available today you can try giving pepcid to settle her tummy. What does she weigh?

Customer replied 282 days and 19 hours ago.

Yes, she loves to eat things she is not suppose to eat! Also loves to chase and eat bugs. She weighs about 45 lbs.

Yikes! Hopefully there is not a piece of "something" stuck in her GI tract. An abdominal x ray may be needed if there is no improvement. You can try giving 1 tablet of pepcid ac 10mg every 12 hours.
