My 17 week old Dalmatian Puppy has a 105.4 temperature... She swallowed a sock last Tuesday and it finally came up on this past Friday... We took her camping and she got car sickness and was throwing up when the sock came out... On Saturday, Sunday and Monday she was fine while camping and running around and playing... The outside temperature was around 90 degrees... Today she is very lethargic and now is running the high temperature... Any help!!!
Optional Information: Type of Animal: Dalmatian Gender: Female Age: 17 weeks Name of Dog: Missy Already Tried: We are trying to cool her off in the swimming pool right now...

Weight: normal;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;text-decoration: none;">A young puppy with signs of stomach upset as you listed above would most likely be sick from infectious causes, inflammatory causes, or eat something they shouldnt Infectious causes could be worms, protozoa, bacteria, and even viruses. In a young puppy - I am VERY worried about another possible infectious cause - parvovirus...Click here to read more on Parvovirus: CLICK HERE- You can try to offer small amounts of pedialyte for hydration and electrolytes (LINK HERE). You can even purchase a dropper from your local pharmacy to offer the water/pedialyte mixture by mouth.- A calorie dense nutritional supplement such as nutrical (LINK HERE)But with this high fever, the best option is veterinary evaluation, fluids to bring down the fever, medications for nause, and testing - to check for causes such as parvovirus as well as x-rays to make certain there is not a blockage. This is meant to be a running dialogue, and for this reason it is very IMPORTANT that you reply using the REPLY TO EXPERT button if more information is needed at any time BEFORE rating.Positive RATING (EXCITED FACE or 5 STARS) and bonus if happy is appreciated as this is the only way I know you have received the information and I receive credit for my time. Please remember to ONLY rate my answer when you are 100% satisfied. I am going to take her temperature again right now...she is 103.2 now and at the lake there was goose poo...there is a chance she might have eaten some..could this have something to do with it?
No - it would not be expected for goose feces to cause this fever in any way, and if the fever remains elevated above 103 and there is continued vomiting that would be a sign where veterinary care is needed as soon as possible. I just gave her some gatorade... I will wait a little while, then take her temperature again... and from what you have said... if she doesn't go below 103... then she has to go to the Vet... If she does go below 103 then what???
Then monitor for continued vomiting / diarrhea - a sign where evaluation is needed.
