My puppy has been vaccinated for parvo. My vet put her on some anti diarrhea meds. She finnished them and her stool is soft. Her demeanor is still very playful. She hates her kennel could the soft stools be from stress of kennel training ect....?

Hello, I'm Dr. Bob.I'm sorry to read of Mackenzie's problem.Yes the stress of kennel training can cause a bit of soft stool, but should resolve fairly soon a s she gets more used to the idea. Kennel training is a wonderful way to housebreak your pup, and many of them actually grow to like the security of the kennel. You can help the soft stools by mixing one teaspoonful of canned cooked strained pumpkin per ten pounds bodyweight into her food. The anti-diarrheal medications will not be affected by the pumpkin, and most pups like the flavor of the pumpkin. Two products available form pet stores, online, and from veterinarians, can ease the stress she's gluing through.D.A.P. and Rescue Remedy are anxiety relieving agents that can be very helpful in calming and soothing anxious dogs and puppies. D.A.P. is available from many pet stores, and Rescue Remedy can be purchased at health food stores. The combination of pumpkin, anti-diarrhea medication and relief of anxiety should quickly put a stop to the soft stools. If they should persist longer than 2 or 3 days on this regiment, your veterinarian should be consulted as something other than stress may be the problem. If you should have further questions, please let me know.Kindest regards,Dr. Bob
