Welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian and would be glad to help!
1) How old is your dog?
hound dog, not sure what kind
Is he neutered?
If just the nipples are affected and not the glands themselves, then most likely irritation can cause this.
A contact hypersensitivity.
why 4 and not all
If the glandular tissue is enlarged as well, we can see hormonal change in male dogs as well as female dogs and a estrogen/testosterone ratio on serum is performed..
If irritation -it is just those areas irritated.
its the four top 1s and they are sensitive
hes eating and drinking fine
If just the nipples are affected - it may be a contact hypersensitivity.
how do i know if the gland is affected
You feel it
If the breast tissue with the nipple is swollen, painful, warm or different
If there is discharge from the nipple - that is abnormal as well.
If the gland / the breast itself is abnormal - I would see your vet for evaluation,
havent seen ant discharge
That would be abnormal
what could the causes be
Adrenal gland disease
Those would be the most common
