Hello and thank you for asking your question on just answer. My name isXXXXX will try to help.
What breed is Peanut?
When did she last eat?
Is she still drinking normally?
Has she had any diet changes such as people food, new dog food, new treats, or gotten into the trash or something outside?
Is she having any vomiting or diarrhea?
Peanut is a medium dog, mixed breed.
last eaten 24 hrs. ago.
yes. drinks water.
no changes in food, treats, garbage, etc. cause she won't eat.
had milkbones as treat prior to last feeding.
no vomiting or diarrhea.
she does nap and the loud noise doesn't seem to bother her, but it is a growling sound like a human when they are hungry only much louder and is continuous.
Usually when there are excessive gastrointestinal noises, there is excess gas rumbling through the gastrointestinal tract.
You can try some over the counter treatment first.
Give 2 1/2 teaspoons of peptobismal every 8 hours.
You can also give 1 tablet of pepcid ac every 12 hours to reduce the amount of acid in the stomach.
She is not going to eat either medication so you will have to pop the pepcid ac into the back of her throat and make her take the pepto bismal.
I would not try to feed her while her stomach is making lots of noise.
Once it quiets down, you can feed her a bland diet of plain chicken and plain white rice. Start with just a spoonful and gradually increase the amount.
You can also offer her small amounts of low sodium chicken broth.
Her stomach should be settled by tomorrow morning with the pepto bismal and pepcid ac. If it is still loud, she may have a gastrointestinal infection and need oral antibiotics. At that point, you will need to see a veterinarian.
I hope this helps.
