my small dog just ate mole killer, probably a few pellets, what should I do. I tried to get him to throw up but it didn't work (my finger down his throat).

Welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian and would be glad to help!

If you would like to try some at home care - to make your dog vomit at home, hydrogen peroxide is recommended. The general dose is 5 mls/ 5 pounds- not to exceed 45mls. You can give a second dose in 15 minutes if the first dose does not work.

If this does not work - I would try to get to your local ER as they likely have a medication (Apomorphine) which causes vomiting in a much more reliable fashion.

I hope this information helps!

The above is given for information only. Although I am a licensed veterinarian, I cannot legally prescribe medicines or diagnose your pet's condition without performing a physical exam. If you have concerns about your pet I would highly advise contacting your regular veterinarian.
