Hello. I am Dr. Brian. What you are describing sounds like tapeworm segments. These are usually caused by ingestion of fleas, so really check your dog over for fleas. You will need a specific medication for tapeworms. Some brand name examples are Droncit and Drontal plus. The drug praziquantel is the actual drug for treating tapeworms.
