my pomeranian was crunching on something and i pulled most of a xmas tree lighbulb out of his little mouth. i found a few other pieces around the carpet. so far he seems just fine. if he did eat any glass it would have been a very small amount. i would appreciate any advice!

I am a licensed veterinarian and would be glad to help!I would not advise making your dog vomit to get the material out, as it can be sharp, and also get stuck coming back up.I would recommend starting a bland diet and increased fiber in the food. A common bland diet is boiled chicken and rice (2/3 rice and 1/3 chicken). I would try this for about 1 week, hoping that he does not show any signs over this time. You can add a tablespoon of canned pumpkin or bran to the diet to increase the stool consistency and passage.If at any time you notice:- More Vomiting - Coughing- Throat pain- Loss of appetite - Lethargy - Blood in the stoolThat would be more indication to see your veterinarian for x-rays.
