my dog was foaming at the mouth and shaking his head. he was just outside in our back yard. seems fine now but i'm worried.

It sounds like he got something in his mouth irritating him- most often this is from licking a plant that is irritating or getting stung in the mouth by a bee/ wasp. The one thing I may give in case it was an insect sting is Benadryl. The dose is 1 mg per lb every 6-8 hours as needed. I would give at least one dose in case of a bee sting so we don't get any swelling in the airway.
