Dog Health Questions? Ask a Dog Vet for Answers ASAP
This time of year it is no unusual to see these types of lesions. They are typically a result of an allergy that lead to a secondary infection. In some cases, you will see some licking or scratching, but many times not. I would try giving some oral Benedryl (diphenhydramine) at a dose of 1 mg/lb 2-3 times daily. You can also use a thin film of cortaid, or neosporin on the lesions. This may help calm them down. If this does not help or he worsens, then I would seek veterinary attention as more aggressive therapy may be needed. I hope this helps and gives you direction.
