Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. A few questions will help me get a clearer picture of the situation:

  • Is the benadryl 12.5mg per 5ml?
  • May I ask the reason for the benadryl?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

I am flying in cabin with my dogs and I was told that I could give them Children's Benadryl to sedate them. Do you think this is safe? Last time I flew with them, I did not give them any medication and they were very anxious and panting throughout the entire flight. Yes, the liquid Benadryl is 12.6mg in each 5ml serving.

I think benadryl is a good option in that case. The dose is about 1mg per lb so try 1.8ml for your 4lb dog and 2.5ml for your 6.5lb dog. It can be given every 8 hours. Good luck.
