Resolved Question:

My dogs eyes are discolored on the white part. A light brown color with some darker spots. Is this normal or something that needs attention. He is a 7 month old labrador.

Hi JillieM,

Thanks for using JustAnswer.com, I'm Dr. Dan and I'll try to help you.

Is your pooch doing any squinting?
Is your pooch pawing at his eyes like they itch or hurt?
Is your pooch oozing yellow or green discharge from the eyes?

No, there doesn't seem to be any indication that they are bothering him at all.

Thanks for the information.

I'm glad your pooch isn't bothered by his eyes.
Some dogs can have some normal pigment changes to the whites of their eyes, some are abnormal. Without a detailed examination of the eye it's really hard to say for sure. However I can surmise that it is likely not a problem since he is devoid of the symptoms I mentioned. It's still important to have the eyes looked at for sure but the odds are in your favor that it is a "normal" thing.

I hope this helps, best wishes.
