I have a 5 lb Yorkie who gets Tramadol for occasional Kidney

Resolved Question:

I have a 5 lb Yorkie who gets Tramadol for occasional Kidney stone pain. I myself have Oxycodone 10/325 for occasional pain as well. Would a tiny dose be safe for him when I see he is hurting?

Thanks for the question. The 325 in your oxycodone is acetaminophen (tylenol). This medication has a very narrow margin of safety in dogs, and I would never recommend it. I'd recommend contacting your veterinarian and tell them your dilemma. Tramadol over all is very inexpensive. Maybe you could consider refilling for a larger quantity, so you don't have to make as many repeat visits.
