HI there

Dogs can get nail bed infections that require antibiotics to treat. If the nail is a bit detached it can die turning black. I think the nail bed infection is more likely. Some dogs have white and black nails , but if this nail is a new color change then your vet should take a look at it to begin the appropriate treatment. Thanks Dr. Jenn
