I am Dr. Peter and would like to help. In response to your question, you cannot euthanize your own dog; it is against the law in the state of Texas. In order for you to euthanize him you would need the license to handle the drugs that are needed during the euthanasia process and a veterinary license to perform a euthanasia. Trying to do it yourself not allowing will you break the law but you may also subject your dog through unnecessary discomfort. If you do not have money to euthanize him call the humane society they may be able to help.
