Hi Sheira
There is nothing toxic to dogs in sugar cane. If your dog ate a large amount it could cause a mild gastrointecetinal disturbance...perhaps a little diarrhea. Apart from that there should be no problems at all.
If you suspect that the sugar cane was contaninated with something else then that may be a different issue but I think that is unlikley given that the canes are grown ultimately for human consumption.
If your dog is acting normally and showing no ill effects don't be concerned.
I hoep I have reassured you. Please contact me back if you have anything further to add or if I can help further.
Kindest regards, Peter
