Does truck idle rough too? Has anything been replaced yet? Thanks.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Truck idles rather smooth and not replaced anything yet. The day before I run the tank almost in empty so I thought I could have a filter problem but I dont know now
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

What engine do you have? Does check engine light flash while driving? Thanks.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I have the 318 and it did not blink at first but today it has.
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

When the check engine light flashes it means there is a current misfire, this almost always means you have a ignition problem. I would start with a tuneup if one hasn't been done recently which would be cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions, thanks.

I will do that but would that also answer the sound of sucking air and no power?
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

A video of noise would help. Sucking sound usually means the intake duct is loose or brake booster vacuum line is leaking. One other thing that comes to mind is a clogged catalytic converter which would make vehicle seem like there is a rpm limiter such as not wanting to go above 3000 rpm. Let me know if you have questions, thanks.

Ok thank you that helped a lot. I will let you know how it turns out.

Sounds good and take a video of problem for me if you get a chance. Thanks again and have a great day!

Hello Dan this is 99 dodge from earlier.
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

Hello, any updates?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I found the whole problem was because of the catalytic converter was stopped up!
Expert:  Dan replied 5 months ago.

Good to hear, I thought that might have been problem but all of the symptoms weren't fitting quite as well as I'd like. Let me know if you need any more help or have questions, thanks.
